Don't we love a good "quote"
Hello Munchkins,
Seven months into 2025—how is everyone feeling?
I’m feeling a little weird, to be honest. Last week was busy, chaotic, and fun. I barely managed to do anything beyond work, but there was one quote that stuck with me. I found myself repeating it almost every day in some random conversation. I had picked it up from a podcast I listened to over the weekend.
Usually, I don’t remember most of the content I consume, but this one stayed because it had a personal connection. I could relate to the guest, and it made me think: often we believe we like something just because it is, but in most cases, we like it because of deeper, underlying factors. Things brew subconsciously until we finally notice them consciously. You know what I mean?
That thought led me to ask my friends, “What’s your favorite quote?”
Because when something sticks with us, it often has a stronger connection than we realize. For me, a favorite quote acts like a constant reminder—almost like a small reassurance. I’m sure there’s some study out there that explains this. Or maybe I’m wrong, but it feels true for me.
Answer from my friends
Here are some of my favorite quotes:
1. “Clarity is kindness.” – Brené Brown
There’s so much kindness in being clear—with yourself and with others. Clear boundaries, clear expectations, clear feedback, or simply knowing what you need. In design (and in my work), clarity is everything. It’s not always easy to have it, but the reminder to strive for it is something I often need.
2. “Inspiration is perishable.” – Naval Ravikant
I don’t really know what he does for a living, but I love his approach to life. This quote means that when something inspires you, act on it immediately. Don’t wait for later, because by then, you may not feel the same spark. Work when inspiration hits.
3. “Kaizen – change for better” (Japanese philosophy)
My first boss asked me to write this on the very first page of my notebook and mentioned it often enough that I never forgot. Kaizen is about continuous improvement, even in small ways, which I really believe in.
4. “We are what we repeatedly do.” – Aristotle
I’m obsessed with the idea of getting better, and that almost always comes from doing something consistently. Consistency is the hardest part - it’s not easy to show up every single day. But I love how our brain chemistry changes, and our self-esteem grows, when we stay consistent and keep showing up.
That’s it from my side!
Now I want to know—what’s your favorite quote?
Also, I’m very excited about the first part of a new series coming out next week!
See you next week! :)
