Mumbai
What’s on my mind-24 March 2024
Hello, munchkins!
Mumbai, a city of dreams, is what they say. And I couldn’t agree more. I flew from Nagpur to Mumbai last week for work, and the experience was unforgettable. I had the best food and learned a lot of new things at work.
My day typically starts at 8 am when I get up, take a shower, and rush to catch a taxi. I bring along a banana and a few dry fruits in my bag, along with my colleagues.
A little backstory - I lived in Mumbai for my first year of architecture and had fallen in love with the city back then. As I moved to Pune, I kept coming back and forth to the city, but when Covid hit, no plans worked. However, I'm here now, and here to stay.
Mumbai is a city full of paradoxes. It boasts India's biggest skyscrapers and largest slums. It has a local train system and the best highways. From fine dining to Chowpatty streets, it offers the best culinary skills. From chaotic dockyards to Marine Drive, it's a mix of contrasts. Cultural landmarks like Siddhivinayak and Haji Ali stand amidst skyscrapers, and the city hosts the finest clubs. Mumbai has something to offer everyone, except for those seeking a slow-paced life.
My friend Cat from Rishikesh, whom I've addressed before, has felt safest here after traveling across India, and I couldn't agree more. People in this city help everyone, and that's probably why they are closer to their dreams
.
Mumbai is full of paradoxes, and that's what makes it even more special. The energy here is contagious, but I'm not fully convinced to shift here.
Special thanks to Neev for making it more fun :)
See you next week, probably in Mumbai!
