Hello, Munchkins!
I’m back from Gurgaon after spending a wonderful two weeks there. Very special day today because it’s my parents’ anniversary.
Let’s start from the beginning. I had been planning this trip for more than three months for work. After a lot of convincing (and a bit of begging), my family finally agreed, and I booked my tickets. The thought of working from the office instead of home thrilled me to no end.
Initially, I had zero expectations regarding safety or how the trip would turn out. I didn’t even pack properly—just one dressy top and no dresses at all! If you know me, this is unusual because I usually plan every detail, from the places to eat to museums and parks to visit. But this time, I decided to just go with the flow.
As soon as I landed, Day 1 was chill—work and relaxation.
By Day 2, things started to pick up, fueled by lots of coffee. And by Day 3, plans began to fall into place naturally. I made new friends, became part of the office gossip circle, and embraced all things fun. On day 4, we shot content for our company’s page, and took retakes the whole day, but fully worth it as I learned so much about camera presence.
One of the highlights was when 20-year-old Tina invited me for some street shopping—a plan I could never say “no” to. She even helped me bargain for every penny! I also met my friends from Nagpur at Bizou-Bizou, where we stumbled upon the best pizza I’ve ever had. It was such a delightful surprise since we didn’t even check the ratings before walking in.
Another unforgettable experience was visiting ‘Camellias,’ one of India’s most luxurious townships. It had everything you could imagine—bowling alleys, a poker room, a cinema, an art gallery, and so much more.
These were just a few of the many amazing moments I experienced.
The biggest takeaway from this trip? Someone like me, a self-proclaimed control freak, went in with no expectations and let life happen. And guess what? Life rewarded me with bonus points—again and again. Not a single moment of disappointment, because there was no expectations to begin with.
I met incredible people who helped me gain insight into the startup world, learned a lot about marketing and content creation, ate delicious food, cooked for myself after two years, and observed so much about human behavior. It was a reality check that reminded me: God’s plans are always greater than ours. Sometimes, loosening the reins and going with the flow is okay. Being in the present, and letting life do its magic, bonus points for being consistent with your habits and showing your sincerity is what’s in your hand.
Maybe it’s the books I’ve been reading or the circumstances around me, but something is shifting. And I’m gladly embracing this change, one step at a time.
One life, one day at a time, friends.
See you next week:)
